Kids Windows 2003 server as "Workstation" in a domain?!

HI!

I "convert" my win 2003 server to a "workstation" (http://www.msfn.org/win2k3/) and now I
will add this "Workstation" to a domain (main server is a win 2000 server).
Is this possible?
Have someone experience with that?

thx!

It will be a MEMBER SERVER in the domain.

You can't install Windows 2003 SERVER as a workstation in a domain.

It promotes a member server to a domain controller, from your reply I assume you aren't using Active Directory so I wouldn't worry about it

so, no problem if join a win 2003 server to win 2000 domain?
no need for adprep/ forestprep /domainprep?

lol

That was pretty interesting...

You could even avoid all but basic network services on that server...either by not installing/configuring or uninstalling and then enable DHCP. That would mean you're technically not a server at all....

Just to clarify...by enable DHCP I really meant obtain addresses and DNS automatically.
