IPX problem on WinXP

I can't get IPX games to work between WinXP and WinME, so I tried uninstalling all protocols but IPX and NetWare client to see if it worked! Didn't work, so I set everything back to normal. Now the problem is, WinMe went back to normal and doesn't show that netware logon box anymore. But WinXP keeps showing that logon dialog box asking for an prefered server, adim password and stuff, EVEN after I removed all IPX related stuff!!! How do I make it stop?? I don't wanna restore the system back to some point. And if anyone can help, how do I sucessfully setup an IPX LAN with WinXP and WinME? Thanks in advance!

For IPX games, you do not need the Netware Client, just the IPX protocol binded to your NIC.

Most IPX gaming problems are IPX frame type mismatches. Set all related computers to use the same IPX Frame type like 802.2 (note that Autodetect frame type isn't a reliable setting in many cases). You find these setting deep in the properties of the IPX->yournic binding.

As for removing the Netware Client, in XP, goto Control Panel, Network Conenctions, then properties of your NIC(s), select Netware client, then choose uninstall.

Thanks for the info on the IPX LAN! I'll try that! I noticed everything had the auto-detect thing on! That must be the problem. As for the Win XP logon box, I already tried uninstalling EVERYTHING all protocols, clients and stuff, and it just insists on showing that logon box!
