How many fans?

How many fans are good (is there a limit?)

I know that there is a system behind it like the one below (see file)

But how many are suitable?

I got 4 in the front blowing into the tower, 4 in the back blowing out and one on the bottom blowing up inside it... and then i have the cpu fan...

I think the limit of fans you can have just depends on how big your power supply and your tolerance for noise generated by the fans. More doesn't necessarily mean better. I think the CFM moved is more important than the amount of fans you have. If you can place them right so there's good ventilation in the case(not sure how to test it) then your fine. I have 2 fans intaking in the front, 2 fans intaking in the side, 1 exhausting in the top, 2 exhausting in the back, 2 40cfm blowers in the pci slots, 1 for the CPU, 1 for the MB chipset, and 1 for my video card.

That many may be overkill...you can only move so much warm air out of the case...

the only thing I added were 2 system blowers. 7 with the case, but I'm thinking about unplugging it. chipset already had a fan, video card also already had a fan, and you have to have a CPU fan.

I have 4 case fans, I have a Antec True power so I have fan controlers but I use the average ones cause they yield more RPM but its noicy. I can tolerate it.

Are you actually asking that question with 7 fans already in your case?

Youre problem may be overkill is creating "dead" spots or pockets.
These are good explanations of airflow technique...

all right ! Those artivles really helped me.. now i will probably put them in there in a different way as it is better when the ventilation in the bottom is bigger

Thanks a lot!!!

Martoch: Yes I was because I wanted to know whether it is probably unuseful having so much fans !
