XP PRO won't boot.
I started out with the dreaded NTLDR file is missing problem. I messed with the BIOS and got XP to load.
Everything looked ok......XP was loading and going through its paces. I just let it set there and do its thing. When I returned, I saw a blank screen. Not even a blue screen. I couldn't get anything to work... at all. I had to unplug the PC to reboot.
I went to the BIOS again and reset it to the default settings. It then started to boot up. It got as far as the XP screen that shows XP is loading. At that point, the screen goes blank. I can use control/alt/delete to reboot, but the same thing happens.
Any ideas. I'm guessing I need to go to the BIOS again, but what I need to do there is a complete mystery to me.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm putting XP on an old Pentium II (Gateway 233 mhz/ 6 gig HD/ and will be networking this machine with my new P4 (2.4 Ghx)
