Systems HELP!! GeForceFX 5900 Problem

I recently bought a new computer with a MSI GeforceFX 5900 128mo, MSI 865PE Neo2 motherboard, intel pentium 4 800fbs 2.6ghz, Maxtor 120gig 7200 and 2*512mo DDR 400 Kingston.

Here is my problem I have tried the Volcan demo and everything seems to be fine, but when I try the dawn demo, it's running at 15 fps :/ . After that i found that my card is not running on the agp 8x... cause when I go in my MSI Information window, all the option under AGP Informations are unchecked :| I dont know what's hapenning, it's the first time I build a computer that powerfull. Please If you know how to activate the agp 8x, and get the full potential of my graphic card some help would be appreciated.

I'm running on winXP SP1, and I'm using the lastest detonator driver from NVIDIA (The MSI drivers do the same).

Thanks,
Marc

first of all, go into display->settings->advanced->Geforce FX 5900 and check there to make sure it's not running at 8x AGP.

As for the dawn demo, are you running the dawn demo, or the dawn ultra demo?

On my card the dawn ultra demo runs at around 15fps as well (i've got a 5900 ultra), but the regular dawn demo runs around 30fps or so. but i've only got a 4x agp mobo, so i can't run at 8x anyways.

just to make sure, you are running the 44.03 detonator drivers, right?

as for everything being unchecked, i don't know how to activate it. i used to have am msi gf4 but i seem to remember everything being enabled. i would go through and uninstall all drivers (nvidia actually puts an ad/remove in the ad/remove programs) and then reinstal the nvidia (not msi) drivers.

I am running an Athlon 2800+
MSI Geforce fx 5600se 256mb
MSI K7N2G Motherboard

I can run the dawn ultra demo on 8x anisoptric filtering, texture sharpening and at liest 6x AA at about 25 fps dropping to about 22 fps zoomed right in.
Are you shure you aint running the dusk demo instead which is the true geforce fx 5900 video in which I get about 17 fps on.
I can also run the ogre demo on max without a problem.

Finance same problem

I have uninstall all my previous drivers of my video card and installed the Detonator 45.23 drivers on my computer. The demo is still running at 15 fps, and I'm not even sure that it is running that fast. After removing my drivers I can still see my MSI informations in my property windows but there's still no AGP option checked :| I have tried to run the Doom3 Alpha demo and i'm running it at a constant 30fps (isn't my comp more powerfull?) Is there suck a big difference between the geforce5900 and the 5900U !? I saw some benchmark on tomshardware and the difference between these 2 card was ridiculous for a difference of 100$ that's why I bought the standard version of the 5900.

I have take a screenshot of my property window at :

Yea, I know, the rest of the window is in french :P
Thanks to help me, sorry if i'm not faster to reply I'm working 16h/day this week :|

Thanks again

And to answer your question, I'm running the dawn demo cause the dusk one run a 1fps

Food 5900 problem solved

On the cd for the Motherboard there should be a driver installation to enable the 8x agp, if your mother board has an 8x agp port.

If not try downloading the latest drivers. Nvidia just released a new driver.

But check the Motherboard CD, its got to be there.
