Gaming reformat ibm thinkpad 380d w/win 95

Help! I am attempting to reformat my sister's old ibm 380D thinkpad. All I have is a windows 98 boot disk, a disk that I downloaded the cd driver, and the Product recovery cd that came with the laptop. I have manged to format the *^&$ thing, but I can't get it to read the disk in the drive. I am not that familiar with DOS so I can't figure out how to install the driver with the disk that I have. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I know that this is an old laptop and win95 is way out of date, but it will serve her purposes and save her money....ty!!

I've already managed to format it. I just can't get it to read the cdrom drive. My problem is that I can't reinstall any programming.

what version of windows are you using?
if you have windows 98 and above you can create your own boot disk and you can use it on another computer for your cd rom drives.
