NTLDR is missing, unique situation!!!need help urgently!!!

hi there,

i've just completed building my new pc, when i booted it, everyhting seemed fine, i went into the BIOS and configured it properly and stable...then i wanted too install XP Professional on my new system (i haven't installed anything else previously, not windows 95,98,ME or anything!). so i go into the BIOS and set my CD-RW to first boot device and insert the XP CD...and then the famous error message appears : NTLDR is missing, press ctrl+alt+del to restart..arrghh!!

the problem is : all these threads about this topic are from people who have another OS installed previously, i don't have anyhting installed on my new pc, the only hting i have is the XP Professional CD-ROM, but no recovery disk or utility. i do have two friends who have XP Pro running so i can copy files at their machine...

what do i have to do now to solve this problem ??
i just have the XP Pro CD-ROM, no recovery disk or anything, what to do now ? and off course two machines running XP...

i should also tell you that i'm not familiar with DOS, since this is to only thing i can enter on my pc, so you'll have to explain yourself really clear...

thx in advance

Umm, yeah... I started the same thread a few days ago and in the same situation as you. Neither do I had any previous OS installed and recieved this problem...

Are you using another computer to post here?

For me, I can login to my computer if I bootup with the WinXP CD which shows the "Press any key to boot from cd..." message and then not press anything after which then goes to the Windows login screen and not see the "NTLDR file missing, press ctrl + alt + del to restart" screen which just stops there. But this is only a temporary way, of course this is a major hassle to keep putting in the WinXP CD to get in your computer so this is why I too is looking for a solution but it seems nobody is helping or don't know how to fix our version of NTLDR error... :\

If you find a way to fix it, please let me know
