Graphic Design Discussion Thread

I was wondering if we could have a sticky thread in the graphics forum for our little group that hangs out here to discuss graphic design and techniques, how we design something, or how some one else designed something else. It could help cut down on some other threads like “How do I make?” Or "Just woundering" We could put them here for ppl to check first then post. Basicly a tutorial and show off thread. It’s just a thought.


I was messing with Fireworks today and made a Mac button in 2 layers and I figured I would use this as my first submission in this thread.

Hey Vivian. I love your work. Those classes we are talking about in the other thread do you have any links to info on them. I know I cant take them buty still I wouldnt mind reading on them.

The exhibition, was it local artists displaying paintings and photography? (I havent had a chance to read it.)

most students sees this program as a joke simply cuz u learn stuff without knowin' that ur learnin' (happens a lot in cyberarts)..so at the end of the day u don't feel like u've accomplished anything'


& the exhibition was based on the style of pop-art for senior high school students

the gallery itself is pretty professional, each exhibition gets is own big air conditioned room.

they've only picked a few to put on the site, but honestly, it wasn't quite an achievement considerin' this "thing" was rite above my so-called artwork:

Kewl I got us a sticky thread to talk in. Actualy I like that pink thing besides the fact that its pink. It has the tree and the sun with a dog running and playing in the part its kinda kewl.

No, it has a sertain outsider artist quality to it. Im not saying I love it but I dont hate it. But yours is much beter.

but i'm just sayin', that was made by a junior schooler
which means gr6-8




if a professional makes a totally 'un-artistic-looking' art, i would stop n' wonder why. but this is somethin' else...lol
there's a huge difference between fingerpaintin' by little kids & art by minimalists. if i put together a bunch of both mixed, very few people would be able to tell which is which.
