replacing monitor connection

With the help of some members I realized there is a short in the connection to my monitor. The monitor is a Proview and the cable runs directly into the monitor, with a connection to the computer. Does any one have any idea as to how to replace or splice into the cable to eliminate the short?

It may not be that simple...
Youll have to remove the back oter case shell and see how it is attaced...the short may be on the board AFTER the wire connection.

Monitor cables are often shielded againts interfearance and if you splice in new sections of cable that may cause problems. Sometimes the wires are twisted inside for the same reason.

It may be better to get the whole new cable replaced if it is the cable.

Do not forget that most newer monitors have a 3 year warranty.
