the 9500 is much better but at the same time its quite a bit more expensive. 5200 ultra around 120-130, 9500 pro around 180-200. not really fair to compare them

there is no comparison. the 5200 is the equivalent of the g4mx series.

5200u $80
9500p $200

They're not in the same market...FX 5200s like the Radeon 9000 is meant to be a budget card with DX9 support. The Radeon 9500 is marketed to compete directly with GF4 Ti series cards, but add DX9 support.

all fx5200 cards suck, no matter how much memory or whatever they have. R9500p completely outclasses this card.. but it should for the price diff.

Thanks everybody.

I'm now throughly perturbed now.

I fried my Radeon 9500 Pro the other day by accident. No verclocking, just trying to make an ingame movie with camstasia. Put the settings too high, rebooted, now i cant even change my resolution with that card without it freezing my comp.

Sucks, I loved that card. Got it for $175 too.

Got this 5200 to test it and see if I was right. I was right, the radeon is broken.

Man, now I have to get a new decent card. I wont be able to live without the framerates of my radeon.
