Building computer - Again

http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishHis...VIEW&ID=387169

Heres the computer I plan on building next month, i've decided on most of the parts after talking to friends/people on forums and reading reviews, anybody got any suggestions/comments about the setup i've chosen? Input is always good.

Very nice selection!
cant really argue any of your choices...
My ONLY comment is on the choice of getting an all-in-one drive and a cdrom, I would personally get a seperate CDRW and DVD.
Personal choice though...
great setup!

would recomend buying a set of 2 sticks rather than 2 seperate sticks as its normally cheeper and i would suggest you look at geli as its much cheeper than corsair

newegg can really rip you on shipping for those small components (floppy, cables, therm, ect.) - i got mine off svc.com

otherwise looks good - well those bright red sata cables look weird but the case has no window to thats ok

edit: oh yea what jp said - get dvd and cdrw - well atleast i would

Same that Cbuddha and JP said + I would go with the two 512mb "matched" *lol* just reread your post cbuddha... I guess the same as you said again... here is the link

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...ion=20-144-122

I was helping a friend build a comp and he got two sticks of corsair 512mb 2100, the system suffered from mysterious crashes until we removed one of the sticks. It then worked fine. We then tried just the other one and it worked fine also. When we put both in the crashes reappeared. We then used the sticks in other comps and bought a "matched pair" which worked perfectly. .02

Incog

edit: I would go with the 333mhz (2100) memory unless you are going to overclock, or plan on upgrading to amd's 400 mhz fsb at a later date.

Thing is i've heard good things about the lite-on cd-r/dvd combo, so i'm going to give it a try. And with the ram, I was thinking of getting the matched set, probably will, but it'll be pc3200.

Any other suggestions though?

I plan on setting up a raid 0, and was wondering if it would be wise to get a 3rd, regular ata133 drive.

I might add another drive to do your backups on.. if your raid 0 goes down it would be nice to have a spare drive to get your data back easily without messing with raid.

i recommend an abit nf7-s (rev 2.0, of course) over the asus
pretty much the same stuff, but more overclockable and for less money

Did you ever think of getting a pentium 4c system? They're kicking AMD's butt nowadays, but you still got a pretty good rig setup there

You might want to think of getting new Arctic Silver Ceramique instead of Silver; Ceramique's non-conductive in case you put too much on and it spills over, plus it works a little bit better too.

Nice rig, and BTW, 333mhz is PC2700.

I wouldn't get a pentium, they cost twice as much and the AMD performs nearly the same.

well, I have the board and memory on my 3000 along with the mouse and i have the mx duo on my 2000. They all work great. Have dine a mild overclock to the 3000 to 2300 mhz. Runs fine.
But I used a volcano 11 hs/f

Rick.
