another problem!!

I just built a new pc. I am giving my old pc tgo my mom. Here is what I did:

I put A7V8X MB 80 gig wd hd AMD XP 1800 in a thermaltake case, I used my ram to test it, Corsair XMS PC2700. It booted up fine and everything was running smoothly.

I removed my ram because I have a stick of PC2100 Apacer not in use and I wanted to use my Corsair in my pc.

I packed the computer up in the case box drove it from Michigan to Florida took it out of the box put in the PC2100 tried to boot it up and the ASUIS voice reporter says: System Failed CPU Test.
I unplugged it cloeared CMOS tried again same result.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Wolf

I would suggest trying a different stick of RAM. If it worked with one stick and the only differences are location and the RAM, I'd try the easy part first- the RAM. It's possible something was jarred in transit and it's even possible that there's some weird thing going on with her power, but both are harder to check then swapping the RAM. (A lesson I learned the hard way- always check the easy stuff first. )

Best of luck to ya.

Ok I pulled the RAM from a working machine. Why would it just not work in this machine? It was installed in this machine prior to this and was running fine. I am confused.

Thanks for your post

Wolf

oh ya when I first got this one together with corsair ram in it, it did the same thing, but that time the PSU was set to 230 had to click it over to 115 so that was the first thing I checked
