Cant open any EXE files.

well what a strange thing this is...
i had a virus on the computer called yada.c or yodo.c or something along the lines of that anyway, some how it binded it's self with explorer, and when ever i opened a program or application it loaded the virus, but the virus just kept crashing as it was trying to install something, every time it loaded i just got "Screen Saver has encountered an error and will close" i pressed close and then it was ok again, ive recently installed a virus scanner (after hours of trying, the virus was stopping the scanner from being installed)
the scanner found the virus and deleted it as it said, but now i cant run any applications or programs, it just says it cant find the program, cant even load the virus scanner up, now nothing loads, apart from the internet (well i have to load my computer then type the internet address in the bar at the top)

any help would be great.

Running without AV software and getting "bit" is a hard pill to swallow.
I know, it happened to me.
Make sure to get those updates on the AV app once installed.
