Win98 Boot HELP!

Ok i think my hardrive is dieing now,
i formatted the pc which is windows 98
then i left it a night, now i start it up and it asks for a system disk so i put in the only boot disk i have and it says 'starting windows 98'
and then i choose with cd rom support
but then it asks for 'windows 98 startup disk 2'
ive never had a disk 2 and ive tryed the ones at bootdisk.com and had no luck.

When you installed Win98, did you have all your hardware loaded?

Try installing once again with bare bones.
Mobo
RAM
CPU
HDD
FDD
CD-ROM
Video Card

After you have successfully installed the O/S, start adding hardware one piece at a time.

ok a update, it has got past the boot disk thing for a unknown reason,
it now is working to the point of where it checks to see if tehres enough memory, there it just freezes and some of the text is missing? i think its teh harddrive but im not that god with computers. I really desperate to get this going again.
