Outdoors system crashed

Well my system crashed last night from a software conflict with COM+ I tried to repair it with my backup which turned out to be corrupted. I then used the CD to repair and it could not load COM+ because of the conflict. I formatted/reinstalled and realized my my AV/FW software was packed away (we are moving to MT), so I decided to download sygate from CNet. Guess what happened next... Boom... msblast! It stopped the download. I manually removed it, downloaded sygate and now I am back. I lost everything. What has been your worst security nightmare?

Talk ...nightmare

The worst Ive ever experienced was when one of my computers got infected with the Backdoor Netdevil. From what Ive read, this is a trojan that can take a certain amount of control of your computer (like your mouse while you are using it!), logs your keystrokes, store files, etc.....

The only reason I noticed it was because I keep a close eye on all of the computers in my house.....I started finding porn files on one of my children's computer. (this is a young child...so there was absolutely no way they did it!) It was in the "My Documents" folder. I would delete them, then just a few minutes later others would suddenly appear..worst of all...there was also some kiddy porn... I just about freaked out....

Got rid of it, though...had to cancel all of my credit cards, debit cards...wipe out the Hdd and write zeros to it ....it was a nightmare, to say the least!
