Vonage, anyone know anything about it?

My father has been cosidering Vonage instead of the local phone mafia and I was curious if anyone here had any knowlege of them.

He has a pretty good cable connection 2mb/384, its stable so I'm not worried about that.

Here are my big concerns:

1) Quality, doesn't have to be perfect, but decent
2) Reliablity, beyond the cable, how reliable it it

Any opinions or insight would be greatly appreciated.
