I have overclocked my P4 2.4B to 2.8 but I have blue screens once in a while. I just set my vcore to 1.625...is that to much for a P4. Could there be something dumb that im overlooking? I am idleing at 44 and it never goes over 48 full load.

P4 2.4B stock heatsink
Soyo Dragon Lite P4X400
120GB Maxtor, 80GB WD

Kingston pc2700 512mb
Sound blaster live 5.1
5 case fans and a slot fan but my room is hot

The voltage seems a little much, but should run fine. If you receiving the BSOD then I would take the FSB down a little.

Voltage does not kill the processor in most cases. It is the associated heat with the increased voltage that kills the chip. If you are still at 48C under 100% CPU usage on a hot day, I would not worry about it.

48C is good, I get that Idle, Voltage really cranks up the heat.

i got a 2.4C running at 1.84 Vcore. I''m not sure if should worry about it since i got water cooling on it. 30 or lower on idle and 36 max for full load.

again, i don't think raising vcore is a big deal IF you have proper cooling to go with it.

edit: i forgot to mention, 2.4C OCed to 3.1.
