Hurry! Help!

Im currently downloading REdHat 9 and I just want to know, do I need all 3CDs? Can I just install it with the CD1 like Mandrake or do I need all of them? Thanks

Regards

That depends of which programs you load. Most installs take at least 2 CDs. Some take all 3. Depends on which options you install.

I've never been able to get it to install, even on minimal, without the second CD. In fact, I don't think I've ever had it not ask for the third, even on minimal.

I've installed RH9 with just 2 CDs. I can't tell you which programs require which CDs, though. I believe you can install the minimal workstation with just 2.

What's the problem, anyway? Did your download not get all 3?

You can install RedHat 9.0 from 2 cd's. The third is mostly optional items like wmms (although i think this is included by default now), games, etc.

I have the 2 first ones so I am lazy and tired of waiting for the 3rd CD so I was asking. Im just going to use my two CD's that I have, BTW, is RH that good? I have used MAndrake, but didnt like it that much, although good OS.
Regards

Arg!
I decided to install RH9 with just CD's 1 and 2. And guess what happens, I chose KDE Interface because I just like it more than GNOME but I needed to manually go and click on the box to install it (no problems here) The instalation begins, takes a while, and after 500+ packages are installed it comes to install KDE and it asks for the CD3! Well, I needed to reboot my computer, uncheck the box, and install it all over again, and guess what. 1 package left, 1! and it asks for the CD3! I just couldnt continue with the installation! So I rebooted my system and here I am! How complicated! Mandrake was a lot easier to install IMO. But well, now I need to Download and burn the iso image of CD3 for just 1 package! (And I chose the Desktop Installation, not custom). Well my pacient is in need for recuperation. See ya guys later.

Regards
