First things first: You need more RAM.

Next: 2000 just doesn't run well on even 128mb. Make sure your disc isn't defective, and that the hard drives recieve a full (not quick) format before installing. Also, make sure your drives are not made by IBM.

the processor should be fine, and the hard drive size sounds reasonable... what other software is installed?

The RAM definately needs a big boost.

How long is it before they reboot? If you get a chance, check how much free space is on the C drive...

Correction: RAM has nothing to do with how much software you can install. Hard drive space is what determines that. If definetly makes it hard to run more than one program at a time with 32mb on tap though, as that's not even enough for Windows to run without resorting to the dreaded swap file.

Trust me when I say this: you can basically get a new computer if you put at least 128mb in their, 160-256mb would be the best, as my first-hand experience with an eMachines comp loaded with Win98, a 466mhz Celeron and 32mb RAM was outperformed by 250mhz rigs running 160mb.
