im reusing an older Emachine MoBo to build my girlfriend a computer to do School work on. is there a way i can get rid of that big EMACHINE splash that hides the bios screen. i know how to get into bios i just want to get rid of that screen. any thoughts?

Unless you can find a BIOS update for that motherboard, NOT made by emachines, I would say you are SOL. I hate that logo also, we have an emonster 1000b here.

Great site. We've got an eTower 566i2 at work that needed some drivers and a memory upgrade. I found them there plus the type of memory required (double-sided )

Also check into Yahoo for an eMachines group. They use HP BIOSes to get cognac mobos (eMachines stopped using them at Celeron 800) to support 1.1 GHz celerons. Quite a group.

ok new plan. girlfriend doesnt want the rig cause she said she really didnt need it. so im thinking linux box. where can i get linux drivers for this board?

What drivers do you need? I doubt you will need any, if you do, post back the names of the devices and we'll have a scout about.
