What OS Should I Use ?

My PC is getting really slow which I don't understand since I have a pretty decent PC. What OS should I use? Sorry, I need Windows since whole family is use to Windows and not linux. One day linux will come but until them. Please guys tell me what OS I should use when I format my PC for a new OS. (Windows ME isn't on due its crap).

What are the specs of your PC? What do you use your PC for?

I use the PC for internet and research mostly. The only games I play are like CS, SC, Vice City, and that is about it.

Yes but how fast is the CPU, how much ram do you have?

if you play games and dont do any time of heavy serving knock win2003 off the list. thats over kill

I have a 1ghz pc and 256 megs of ram.

Ahh ok well WinXP will be just fine then.

If you do networking then go with windows xp pro but if no networking go with reg windows xp. The reg windows xp runs a little faster but is horrible for networking.

Me personally...I would go with 2000.

Any machine not seriously used for gaming should be packing Windows 2000. It's fast, stable, and the best for work boxes.
