stan4993 is on a distinguished road

I jus finished building my pc and the cpu temp is outragous its in the low 50 degrees celcuis. im am using an amd xp 2500 and the heatsink that came with it in a lanboy antec case. How can i lower the temp?

Get a different Heatsink. Don't use the stock one also get a good thermal compound.....Nanotherm or Arctic silver 3

thats 122 degrees ferinhite (50*1.8+32=122) and thats well within specs. I would not worry.

Didn't even calculate that but yah that is a good temp don't worry about it. If u still want to bring it down more go with what I suggested

well when i was on the internet last hour my asus A7N8X Deluxe made the long beeps that said the cpu overheating. thats why im worried.

what was the beep code? Well make sure u have most of your fans blowing out except for the front one....u want that one blowing in. Do what I suggested. What is your CPU temp and your System temp??

go into your bios and turn it off. Its not overheating, your bios is just set to think it is.

Your temps are fine bud, I wouldn't "sweat" it until you're pushing into the 60's.
