Wats latency when buying ram.

Wats latency do when buying ddr ram. I just bought low lat pc2700 corsair xms memory. I know its good but wats so special about it

Having RAM with a CAS latency of 2 shows little improvement over 2.5. Though it can pay to buy Corsair XMS or the like, not just because their made for speed and overclocking, but because their manufactured well and won't die as fast as the 5-7 dead sticks did that are hanging from my desk.

...There's a rather large improvement in CAS2 over 2.5 ... I noticed a difference...in regular desktop use.

That's good stuff, btw. Corsair is a very nice brand, but if you can spare the $300 ish per stick of Mushkin, that's where it's at.
