While replying to some artwork posts and such, I posted my own with a type of background I guess nobody has come across yet and some people wanted to know how I made it, and here I go...
1) Double-click the
Set Background Color button and change it to black. (fig1)
2) Click
File>New. Change the
Width to
550 and the
Height to
400 and the
Resolution to
300pi if you want to print it. Click
Background Color in the Contents area and then click OK. (no fig2)
3) Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Pick any colour and set that as your Background Colour in the Color Panel. Draw a circle in the middle of the image.(fig3)
4) Using the the Move tool,
move and then
clear the circle you have just drawn. You should end up with a circle that is the colour you chose in step
3).(fig4)
5) Click
Filter>Stylize>Extrude.... Change the type to
Pyramids if it isn't already set at that. Enter
15 for the Size and
255 for the Depth. Click OK.(fig5)
6) Repeat step
5) one or two more times. I chose to do it just once more. Doing it more times gets you more detail. But I want to show you where you can leave it and not go any further if you like.(no fig6)
7) Go back to the Color Panel again and
darken that colour (choose a darker shade). Click
Filter>Render>Different Clouds. And this is where I think it looks cool enough that you can leave it. But I amd curious and like to go further and click buttons, so that's what I did.(fig7)
8) Click
Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates... and click next to
Rectangular to Polar. Click OK.(fig8)
9) This is what I came up with... (fig9)
10) Below is what I did my second time with this Polar stuff and that is what you get when you play around with the Extrude settings and such... (fig10)
I hope I got everything. I'm sorry if some of it wasn't clear or didn't make sense. I'd be happy to clear anything up
I'd like to see some done and/or improvements from this. I'd like to learn a thing or two more. LoL, actually that's an understatement.
Have Fun,
FireWolf
