I am not absolutely certain but I would have to say the answer is no. One is built around DOS and the other is built around NT Kernel.
Like Ground Zero3 says, get the ME OEM bootdisk at the site he lists.
You can always try the XP bootdisks I guess and get back to us and tell us what you find out.

If it is something like a nasty boot sector virus the only way to really get rid of it is to do a Zero Fill format and then completely reinstall the OS and programs.
Possibly you could install this drive in another machine as a slave drive and try to access it and run an anti-virus on it then.
Also, it might be possible as a slave you can recover some/all of the important data/files on it before sanitizing it and doing a reinstall.

Well, it's possible but then everytime you log onto the internet you are potentially vulnerable to a virus. If you have your virus definitions up to date and IMMEDIATELY run a virus scan on his drive you should be safe.
Also, viruses are not spread necessiarily by proximity like with humans. Many are spread thru methods like email and IM etc.
I think you would be perfectly safe to use the slave method IMO. (famous last words)
