Changing startup screen in Windows ME

Hi, I'd like to know how to change the startup screen on my dad's computer. I haven't used his computer since I got Windows ME and I thought it would be funny if I changed his startup screen like I used to every once in a while when I used his computer as a family computer. Unfortunately, I cann't find the logow.sys file. I went into C:\Windows\ and I can only see the logos.sys file. So, I made a test logow.sys file and saved it in C:\Windows\ and the startup logo did not change.

What I am aiming to do is find the logow.sys file and modify it so that it will say:

WINDOWS ME
more errors edition (instead of millenium edition)

Oh yes, and I already searched the entire computer for "logow.sys" and it doesn't exist. Help?

BTW, insert your own caption!

in the root directory of your C drive, create a bitmap 320x400x256 colour and call it logo.sys. This is stretched to 640x400 so you may find it easier to make it as that, then export it to 320x400.
You can also do the "Please wait while windows shuts down" (C:\windows\logow.sys) and "It is now safe to turn off your computer" (C:\windows\logos.sys) screens.
It is classed as a system file so you need to make explorer view system and hidden files, and uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" box as well.
As to the program you use, Paint will do, photoshop and that will also work, so long as you export to a 256 color RLE encoded windows bitmap.
