A question about alkaline and rechargeable batteries
I just bought a mp3 player, which is powered by AAA battery, the problem is that it say in the manual to use alkaline battery only, but I want to use rechargeable battery to spare money I mean one alkaline battery only last like 12 hour then I also only use earphone..
So my question is, is it ok for me to use rechargeable batteries, and why do they want me to use alkaline batteries only?

The Alkaline battery is a 1.5 Volt device. A rechargeable AAA battery is only a 1.2 Volt device.

1. Do you dudes think the mp3 player will work on the 1,2 volt aaa rechargeable battery.
2. Is it possible to get 1,5 volt aaa rechargeable batteries

1.5 and 1.2 I didn't know that although it didn't stop me from switching between the two.
That is not a recommendation just something I've done

No, I do not think it will 'work' - I tried it. I also do not think it will harm the player, so maybe try it for the fun of it.
For me, the sound quality was poor and then the player shutdown within a few minutes on fully charged NiMH battery. The player may have a low battery protection circuit in it (mine acts like it does). That would shut off the player when the battery voltage fell below a certain value. If the player is designed to shut off at 1.1 volts, you get very short life from a NiMH or NiCD, while the alkaline runs for a long time before the voltage drops that low.

I guess it depends on the device. My Sony Digital camera can use either one. But if the manufacturer says not to, then there must be a reason. I've never seen a 1.5V rechargeable battery.

The answer is buy rechargeable alkaline batteries. This is what I get for all devices I have that require the 1.5vdc. They hold a charge for years unlike the NiMH rechargeables and are usually a fraction the cost.
I have some that are over 4 yrs old, have been recharged countless times and still have the battery life that they had when new. The one thing that I would recommend is that you do not run them entirely dead before recharging as that is hard on them. Recharged with a partial charge remaining and they seem to last and last.
They do not develop the memory like Nicad rechargables do.

My mp3 player says the same thing (Nomad) and i use a rechargable in it. Regular ones were getting way to expensive (3+a week) while 4 rechargables have lasted me 6+ months.
