CTX EZBOOK scu password problem help needed

I have got a old CTX EZbook Laptop, the HD has been formatted and I cannot get access to the SCU as this is password protected. The password is long forgotton.

Can you disable/ reset the PW via any switches / removel of on-board battery?

I have looked in the user book but this does not give any help to the location of these or what the accessible switches are for.

As CTX do not now deal with laptops, can anyone give me some suggestions on how to get to the SCU settup screen.

Thanks in advance for all / any help.

I haven't had this particular problem as I haven't passworded my CTX EZBook's BIOS.

However, my guess would be to remove the CMOS battery for X amount of time and them put it back in and boot. (See if that does it). and to otherwise look for any kinds of switches/jumpers which look like they might be for resetting BIOS password.

After removing the CMOS battery, you might need to enter the BIOS setup screen (once you replace the battery) and manually enter a lot of the things which were on there before. If this works, and you need some of the old BIOS settings (as you hadn't written them down), I have a CTX EZbook laptop as well, so I can just give you the BIOS settings that you ask for.

Good luck
