Red and white dots on just one game???

Everything is working fine on my PC, then one day I went to play Max Payne(Which was previously working ok) and I got this little red dots on the intro movie and white dots/small line during gameplay, then I thought, oh crap! Bad video card(It's not and has never been overclocked)! Now the funny thing is that it only happens to Max Payne. I tested several other 3d games and didn't get a single dot! Can I discard the possibility of a bad video card in this case? I think the dots started appearing after I installed DirectX9, but I'm not sure.

Windows ME
PIII 780 mhz
512 RAM
GeForce 4 MX 440 64 MB DDR

Try backtracking to DX8 and see what happens. I cant get it to work well with my Radeon 9700 either.
