Kids CD Burner/DVD Burner

I am really exited. My new DVD Burner should arrive tomorrow.

This represents a certain challange to me.

I currently have a DVD ROM and a CD-RW drive in my box. One of them has to go to make room for the new burner.

Which one to remove? I am hesitant to sacrifice the CD-RW as it burns CDs faster than the CD burner. Still I do not know how it will work if I keep the CD burner and want to copy DVD.

Any advice appreciated.

i had the same problem....

but I ended up buying a new case with extra slots, and an IDE PCI card.

In your case, if you don't do any audio ripping or have games that need fast cd-rom, the you should take it out (cd-rom)

otherwise, keep the cdrom.

I'd take out the CD-RW and use the DVD-ROM for ripping movies. You can rip with the burner but ripping with a 16X DVD-ROM is much faster.

oops sorry.... (DVD-ROM).

well, in that case, I would take out the cdrw and leve the dvd player there.

I believe dvd burners are 12x for dvd playback.

I rather keep the 16x one. if that's what you have.

If you're going to be doing alot of dvd ripping leave in the DVD drive

If you burn alot of cdr's leave in the CDRW drive because more than likely it will burn f cdrs faster than the DVD burner.

I'm assuming that your DVD burner can burn cdr's as well.

HTH
