- Front side bus
- CPU speed
- CPU Frequency multiply
- CPU external frequency

CPU speed as in frequency I would think, External frequency??

Multiplyer X front side bus = Frequency.

I am sure someone can give a better explaination, I dont want to confuse.

fsb is sort of the speed the chipset internals run at....then you multiply that by the "multiplier" to get the actual cpu spped.

For instance in the old Intel BX chipset..you would have a fsb of 100mhz..times, for instance, a 6x multiplier..so you would have a P3-600 6x100. The fsb is also usually what speed the memory runs at..although the modern chipsets have lots of variations. So for the 100mhz fsb in my illustration the memory ran at 100mhz also...so it was called "PC100".

Anyway, that is a really simple explanation....look it up on google and youll get the picture better.
