twiztidtruckie,
Did you check for conflicts between USB adapter and sound card?
What motherboard?, What OS?

Did you buy it from a company or ebay maybe or did someone give it to you? How long have you had it? If you've had it awhile did the sound ever work?
You'll probably have to download and install a program that tells you what your motherboard is. Like Sisoftware sandra: http://uadln.com/sinfo.php?id=1543
If it doesn't take you to the actual page search for SiSoftware Sandra 2003 1.9.31

Pull the added card, see if it works then. If not, you've zapped something whilst installing the card. ESD protection is everyone's best friend ...

twiztidtruckie,
Here is another very good diag program, it is called aida32 - http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php
If you have tried pulling the usb card and the sound still don't work, did you change any jumpers or go into the cmos and change any settings?
In the device manager make sure the drivers for the audio are still set up, might even want to remove them and reinstall drivers for the sound card or updated drivers. Also check under control panel Sound and Audio devices and see if under the Audio tab the options are greyed out or not.
