Sure. You'll get suspended for it tho. Schools are really twitchy when it comes to their computers. Unless this is a VERY leniant college, and you personally know the admin, I would NOT hack the comps (which is how you'd get admin rights). OR you could end up in some deep ****.
There are alot of ways to drop a connection. He could have also used a REALLY BIG ping and flooded the server, which isn't suprising consitering public school comps usually are networked with spaghetti string and some tech I haven't seen used since Bush Sr was president....that was low tech at the time. Or he could just know the admin guy, or at least the root password (if it's UNIX base, which is doubtful since school systems seem to have a fetish for Novell Netware, even though UNIX/BSD is free and much, much, much more powerful. They could use the saved money to get techs that can operate it at least half-way decently).
