looks like someone in your class is too advanced for the class, but has to take it as a requirement or an easy A. Best way to find out is to just ask him.

either you ask for them or you ::ahem:: attain them. The latter of which is illegal.

Sure. You'll get suspended for it tho. Schools are really twitchy when it comes to their computers. Unless this is a VERY leniant college, and you personally know the admin, I would NOT hack the comps (which is how you'd get admin rights). OR you could end up in some deep ****.

There are alot of ways to drop a connection. He could have also used a REALLY BIG ping and flooded the server, which isn't suprising consitering public school comps usually are networked with spaghetti string and some tech I haven't seen used since Bush Sr was president....that was low tech at the time. Or he could just know the admin guy, or at least the root password (if it's UNIX base, which is doubtful since school systems seem to have a fetish for Novell Netware, even though UNIX/BSD is free and much, much, much more powerful. They could use the saved money to get techs that can operate it at least half-way decently).

if you want to know ask him. we do not discuss bring down networks or obtaining admin rights if you were not given it.

Its kids like the one sitting next to you who makes my job alot harder in the schools. i have to fix and patch all the time cause you kids are trying to take a server down or do something else. leave the school networks alone. the admins are not paid enough to deal with that crap.

Redwolf the reason why alot of schools dont move to unix/bsd is cause the people they have running the networks only know ms. There to scared at least in the school system i work with. But the next county over they are using linux and unix to run servers.

there is plenty of resources online to learn this stuff. go read till your little heart is content
