will half-life 2 work

I may be interested in getting half life 2 but I have herd it may not work on all computers. With my configuration below may it work on my computer
p4@2.53ghz
asus p4s8x
512 ddr ram only one stick could add a nother
cd/dvd I am sure it will work 52x read
asus v9280/td ti4200 8x 120mb video card (acording to the box)
80 gig hard drive thinking of adding a 200gig harddrive

This game isn't even released yet, you might want a new video card for when it does come out though.

Wait 'til the game comes out...sometime around Christmas...your system should more than be able to handle it...your proc, M/B, memory, etc look fine...your video card should be OK too, although not the fastest. I understand that a DX9 card would be best suited for the game...yours is a DX8...but get the game and try it first before jumping out and buying a new card for a game that isn't even available yet....the game supposedly will scale for play on lesser systems...

c44: your system will run the game fine, just not at the highest settings, you need a DX9 card for that.
