Welcome to TechIMO!

Have you scanned for viruses?

Have you downloaded and run Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.2 ?

Have you downloaded and run Ad-aware ?

I had the same problem

I ran the clnpoza utility and don't seem to have anymore problems.

Also, make sure your 2K updates are current.

I had this problem yesterday.... Could it be the Virus?
My comp also hangs (REALLY BAD) at startup... After I get into Windows, but whenever I try to run anything, it will just sit there and lag horribly for about a minute and a half...
I'm thinking about reformatting anyways... If I reformat, will I be ok just connecting to the internet & immediately downloading all the 2000 updates?

I would think so. Do all of the service packs one at a time first.

Yeah. I have the same exact problem.. It's the Blaster virus. You need to follow the other posts and get rid of the virus. I'm currently in the process of running all the updates (I had to start with the first service pack and I'm working my way up to 4) I supposedly got rid of it, and it's still not in my registry, but, whenever I connect to the internet, that error comes up. It may be the virus still trying to attack my computer. Hoefully, by the time I get to service pack 4, and run the scan again, it'll be fixed. any thoughts?

Sychost.exe/ Bill in SD

I had a virus alert W32BlasterWorm and norton said it was destroyed
I had also an alert forJSExceptionExploit, and after Norten failed/access denied 3-4 times, it finally deleted it.
Since then problems have occured withoud my system having been really infected.
Yes i run adaware and also WormGuard.... seems unsuccesfull.
Lets see with spybot and Cinpoza

Thank you very much

Will let you know what happened

Yeah, basically I tried the whole spybot and adaware thing too, but that didn't do anything. The problem stopped as soon as I installed service pack 4 and that security patch though. So, that might fix it for you.
