Water cooling

i was thinking of getting this as i am fed up of cpu temps of 50c but is it quiet and effective. i don't know much about water cooling so some advice wouldn't go a miss

the kit i was looking at is Thermaltake Aquarius II P4/AMD Liquid Cooling kit here at Overclock it seems very cheap

so what you are saying is that you system runs fine, works great and has no problem, the only problem is the relative numerical value of the CPU temperature?

Maybe its just me, but isn't that kinda silly? Your system isn't overheating nor is it crashing or freezing due to any inherent problems with the temp, its just that you don't like to see the 50 degrees?

On topic, you can check out frozencpu.com for some watercoolers, some even has reviews! Water cooling is great, don't be stingy, get the best you can afford, it all shows when you put it in. Some water cooling kits are even louder and less efficient compared to air cooling.

I have a Koolance water cooling system, it is a very quiet system, and my temps range from 22 - 32 c at all times, I have my machine way overclocked and there is still no issues.

That Thermaltake kit will be quiet, but it won't lower your temperatures much (it's not a great kit)

The best thing to do with water cooling is build your own. Read up on this site for more info.

Building your own kit will run you a little over $100, depending on what you buy...but that's still cheaper than any *decent* kit...and custom setups almost always outperform purchased complete kits.

I recently installed my watercooling kit from Corsair, the HydroCool200, and I like how it's an external kit, you can keep an eye on it w/o popping open the side panels. As far as the ThermalTake kit goes, I was going to get that kit, for the Antec case because of the magnets and all to keep it still, but it doesn't do much, it just lowers the temps, it can't do much say, overclocking. The TT unit is good fo say, watercooling a video card's core and if you can find some memory blocks. (If you do find water blocks for the memory LMK!! I want to get my hands on some)
