Blaster worm
ok guys if anyone can nail this a friend of mine on AIM just let me know he was infected today with the blaster worm. how can he delete it. it keeps shutting him down but he can get on long enough for me to tell him what to do. HELP guys.

Thats what we are looking for Xeroid. Those patches will fix you up real good. You should use both links to remove/prevent the virus. Good Luck!

There are manual fixes he can try to hopefully allow him to d/load the patch. Try the Symantec site Xeroid listed for some ideas.
You may have to talk him through them on the phone.

how do you know which winxp version your running? 32 or 64? sorry if this has been talked about. Hope your friend gets up and running soon

64-bit will only be on Itanium CPU. So if CPU is a P4, Athlon or anything else, winXP will be 32 bit.
