Computer rebooting automatically

Recently my computer has been rebooting on its own when i would do anything with any cd burning programs. I have right now cakewalk pyro 2003 as my cd burning software.

p4 2.4
512 ddr kingston
g4 mx 440

im wondering if it could be the intel application accelerator that is causing the trouble

Have you tried any other burning program? It could just be Pyro 2003
having conflicts with your hardware.

You might as well head here:

And do some reading. That might not be your problem but I'd definitely check into it.

Did virus scan and checked and i didnt have msblast virus. Im still trying to figure out the problem with my comp. It has to do with the cd burning capabilities that restarts my computer all the time

What size is your powersupply? Cdburning uses a fair amount of power, smaller power supplies or weaker ones will not be able to power a P4 (which I think is fed from the 12v rail)and the burner at the same time, so the computer crashes (reboot)

You should be using at least a 350w name brand power supply with that processor

I have a 350w powersupply with lite on 52x24x52 cdrw drive so i dont think its the powersupply causing the problem. Any ideas why i still have my comp rebooting everytime i do anything with any burning software

I blew up a 350w generic power supply with mine, (XP2100@2.16Ghz) with a liteon 52x24x52 drive(but have a radeon 8500 vid)

What name is written on your power supply?
