My friend has a AGI 300 Watts PSU and he is curiouse if it would be better to go with a better one.

His system.

AMD Athlon XP 2200+ 13.5X133
MSI K7N2
512 MB of PC 2700
60 GB WD 7200 RPM
52X24X52 CDRW
Radeon 7500 64 MB DDR
Sound Blaster Live! Value
2 Case Fans

I use a Antec True Power 330 Watt PSU

My Specs

Pentium 4 2.0A Ghz Oced at 2.4 Ghz
MSI 845E Max
768 MB PC 2100 OCed at 320 MHz
80 GB WD 7200 RPM HDD
20 GB Maxtor 5400 RPM HDD
32X12X48 CDRW
Radeon 9000 Pro 128 MB DDR Video
Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1
ATI TV Wonder VE
4 Case fans

Both Machines run fine, but what would be the point of buying a more powerfull PSU, or it is just hype?

If everything is working fine on his PC, then I would say no he won't benifit from a better one, unless of course he starts upgrading his components that use more power...

I've only got an Enermax 350 with the following:

EPoX 8RDA+
Barton 2500+ @ 3200+
2x512 PC2700
GF4 Ti4400
DVD
CDRW
80 GB 8MB cache HDD
2 CC lights
6 case fans (2 neon)
Audigy2 Platinum
TV Tuner card
Modem
SCSI
Dazzle video capture card
