WEP key help

Is there anyway I can access the WEP key that was installed on our offices wireless network so I can change/delete it. We don't need the security because the router is setup to only allow 1 mac address from a wireless nic network access..(My dads computer) I'm just curious, it's not important or anything were running just fine the way we are now.

Send a message via AIM to Siliconjunkie
What kind of access point is it?

Do you mean on the router/access point or on the computer?

WEP encryption would have to be disabled on the AP, and then you would just delete the key from the computer in control panel

just as a reference, the WEP key has a different security purpose than the MAC address restrictions. WEP helps protect your data to/from the wireless clients. MAC restrictions are to prevent unauthorized communication to your wired devices (on the wired side of the AP).

Thanks, I just went to the AP and took care of it. We've decided just to get a PCMCIA ethernet card so the comp is limited to 10 mega bit connection speed to the network.
