A friend of mine recently bought a new computer and he has had an annoying problem ever since. When booting the PC, at the point where the HDD's are recognised it stalls for about 20- 30 seconds and then can't find the hard drive at IDE 0,0. When rebooting and entering into the BIOS, saving and then restarting again (no changes applied in the BIOS) it finds the HDD after about 30 - 60 seconds and boots into Windows normally.
System specs:
P4 2.4
Soltek SL-85ERV2-L
1024Mb DDR
Western Digital Caviar 120Mb SE 8Mb cache
Please help for a faster boot sequence
