CPU Frequency

I'm using Barton 2800+ with a 166 MHz frequency.

Can i change this frequency to 200 without problems or is it too high ?

Firstly, what type of RAM have you got running, and also, it is better to slowly work your way up to 200, rather than straight up there..

I have 2 X 256 Kingston (DDR) in Dual Channel Mode

The RAM frequency is at 200 MHz and the CPU is at 166.

The last option that i have for the CPU in the BIOS is at 200.

Do you think that i can change it without any problems or is there something that i can do to slowly get there ?

You should be able to slowly work your way up (you may need to change to 'expert' mode), and you can slowly work your way up in the range, upto 200....

I'll wait for now because i'm not an expert yet with that. The only change that i'm planning to do is to change the heatsink for my SLK 800 with a Tornado Stealth 80mm to try to cool it down a bit more. It's at 50 Celsius right now and i would like to try something else.

tmx468 you certainly did your homework but blue you should go up in 5mhz or lower incraments. also try to up your cpu voltage core in .o25 incraments to ensure stability, and if your going to get vantec get a tornado not a stealth, that wont help much. 50 is way to high. im running my 1.7ghz celeron at 2.26ghz with a 533mhz fsb and i only have a 32 celcious temp!

It was suggested to me that it would be better to have my memory speed at the same than the FSB so if i understant correctly that means to put the memory also at 166 like the CPU ?

This is really confusing me, my system is stable the way it is and i don't know what's best. I just want to get the best of it so i'll take some times to do some reading about it.
