2 problems with A7S266-VM/U2 please help!

I've just replaced an hp 7935 (trigem santafe) mobo with an asus A7S266-VM/U2

problem 1) the digital audio plug that fit the old board was a 3 pin and socket on the new board is a 4 pin... is there anyway i can rewire this so that it works?

problem 2) the 2 additional usb ports on the front of the case don't seem to be working. they've been plugged in to the right port, but just don't connect. any suggestions?

k i've fixed the usb ports... just needed to pay closer attention to the pin numbers

still stumped on the audio though... i've rewired the plug so that it's a 4 pin connector but there is still no sound when i plug it in...
does the hp sound port rely on recovery disk software? (cuz this won't work with the new bios)
any suggestions would be appreciated
