the easiest way is to just add it by installing it on your HD. If you want to do it properly, just simply partition off your HD and install on the empty portion. Depending on you system setup, 2 OS is not needed, and is not the greatest of ides, as 2 OS will require you to pick before the machine boots up, and will slow your system down dramatically, and will take up an incrediable amount of HD space... Persoanlly, I wouldnt suggest doing the dual OS

Umm... twiztidtruckie... do you know what you're talking about when you say it will slow your computer down?

Installing 98 on a second partition won't affect the speed of either OS.

Also, it will not automatically dual boot if you install 98 after XP, 98 will overwrite the winXP bootloader. My favorite method of dual booting is to install XOSL to the fat32 partition (needed for win98 anyway) and set it up right, it's pretty self explanitory, just follow the directions.

It should not slow anything down. Will take up more space, but not slow anything down. Just make sure to load the newest OS last and put them in seperate partitions as samwichse said.

3 partitions would work the best two for the seperate OSes and one for general files that that both OSes can use. Keep the 3rd general file one as fat32 so both Oses can see it.

Yes, as Sam said if you try to load win98 AFTER XP you will overwrite XPs bootloader and will not be able to boot.
You will need at least 2 partitions, one for 98 and one for XP.
While you can use a third party app for booting it is not needed. You will be presented with a screen right after your POST screen asking you which OS you want to boot to (after both OSs are installed).
Also, you can run FAT32 on 98 and NTFS on the XP partition without any problems other than no being able to read the files on XPs partition while in 98.
