HELP! PC wont boot

Ok, the other day my brother was playing Counter Strike on my computer. He claims the computer restarted all of a sudden, got to see the bios screen then boom, turned itself off.

After that, when i try to power it up i dont get any video at all and no error beeps. The fans turn on and also the mobo's LED lights up. Ive tried clearing the CMOS and same thing happens. Ive also taken everything out and reseated it and nothing has improved. Even if i dont connect a video card or even memory i get no beeps from the mobo (even tried with no cpu and same thing). Ive also tried another speaker to make sure that wasnt the problem.

I am guessing i have a bad mobo or processor now but i cant figure out which one is bad and dont want to spend 100 bucks on a new mobo just to find out it was the processor.

Ive tried the video card and hard drive on another computer and they both work fine. I also tried booting up with another power supply but no luck with that either.

I am leaning towards de mobo being bad because when i connect my hard drive to it it wont start spinning. If i just connect the power to the hard drive it does spin, but if i also plug the IDE cable from the mobo to the HD it does not start spinning on power up.

Only thing i can think of is it being the RAM, the processor or the mobo. But if it was the processor or the ram i assume I would get some error beeps. The BIOS in my mobo is from AWARD.

The specs are the following:

Athlon XP 1600
Biostar VIB mobo
WD 40 GB 7200 rpm
geforce ti4200 PINE
DDR 2100 256 ram (only one dimm)
Crappy power supply 250Watts (have used it for 1 year+ so i doubt that is it, the other PSU i tried was only 230 watts but with another video card so i am assuming its not the problem)

Ive also taken the mobo out of the case and tried it on a cardboard box to make sure it wasnt a short somewhere and same problem.

I hope someone can help me with my problem. Im pretty sure something went bad in my comp just want to make sure what it is and replace that without spending any money innecessarily.

Thanks

Do you happen to have a friend that has a Diagnostic POST card?

If you did, you could pop that card in the motherboard and if you see codes on your POST card, then your motherboard is still alive. If you did not see any codes, or if the code "00" or "FF" remained on the screen then you motherboard is probablly junk.
