I like the idea of Lindows and I wish them well, the "Click-n-Run Warehouse" is also a great idea; however, a single "warehouse" could exist for all of Linux if distributors would agree on and stick to a single set of standards. I was dissapointed at Lindows changing the title of OpenOffice.org to Lindows Office and charging $49 for it -- kind of dishonest -permissable, but unethical.
Lindows has some serious security issues as well, running as "root" all the time, they have actually created a Linux that needs antivirus and internet security tools -but don't worry, they will sell you those too, at $49 a pop --plus a little extra for a subscription to keep them up to date.
If you actually bought all the boxed Lindows products it would cost about $250+ ...now is that cheaper than Windows? When you consider that some great opensource programs are also available for Windows -like Gimp, and OpenOffice, Lindows becomes even more costly for what it offers. Lindows also has the same hardware compatibility limitations as other Linux distros, and does not provide the ability to run 98.7% of all off-shelf Windows software.
Lindows not yet!
