heat screwing up my comp???

for awhile now ive been noticing that when i play cs for awhile or my comp has been on forahile 1-2 hours its starts to skip when i play cs even though i have a good cable modem connection and my ping is low, i think it might be because of my computer temps witch have gotten up to about 50 degrees c.

50 c is not that bad, maybe its something else. My CPU is about 55c every day though. I have an Athlon XP 2000+.
Try to look at your hardware since I dont think its the heat.
Hope this helps

Regards

What CPU is it? What are you using as a cooling solution?

It's not going to slow your system down (especially internet speed).

well if the temp in your case is high and your airflow is poor then that could cause your videocard to overheat and cause your system problems in general...what are your specs...what HSF...how many and where do you have case fans...

ok heres my specs-- AMD XP 2000 1.6 running at 1.6 with a Thermaltake volcano 11 heatsink and fan using the sensor that changes it speed by itself depending on the temp. Aopen GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64mb with only the stock fan on it, 512 kingston memory and a 7200 rpm 80gig hdd. and an MSI KT333 ultra mobo (im pretty sure), my case is a steel midtower case by codegen, painted black wit red racing stripes (if that helps any, w/e i got bored one night) i have one 80mm fan in the top back right under the psu blowing in on the cpu (i just changed it from blowing out to blowing in today to try and change temps but not much happened) one 80mm fan in the psu blowing out (stock) its a 300 watt psu that came with the case, a 92mm fan on top blowing out from right in between my cd drive and psu, another 80mm blowing in from the bottom front, and a 92mm fan blowing in from the side of the case onto my vid card mostly, (that and the top fan were modded in and all those pesky holes blocking the other fans were removed) so i think it might be my video card over heating and causeing my comp to skip when i play cs, cuz my internet connection is fine and my ping is low. PLZ HELP!!!
