I have heard and seen these HD that work in 10000/15000 RPM and I just want to know have anyone tried them? I just want to see how the just work! They should be amazing...
I had a 5400 RPM, sucked, bought a 7200 and much better but imagine these *jesus* lol
I dont think there are any 15k IDE/SATA drives. I have a 10k SCSI drive in my workstation at work, nothing too spectacular. We have 15k SCSI drives in the newer servers but I havent benchmarked them.
Im sure they must get HOT! lol
But they amust be faster though.
Siliconjunkie: Yes, they exist, the 15k RPM! Look at this site and find it. Its expensive though and its not a big HD: 18.4 GB: 15k Seagate HD
Enjoy
Oh, sorry guys
The 15k Seagate IS is nmot SATA, its SCSI
Whats the difference btw? Is the SCSI for servers?
Although 10k must be good aswell but I would wait a few years because they will be more cheaper and with more space! lol
SCSI drives don't necessarily have to be for servers. One of my desktops uses a SCSI HDD and all it's used for is mostly web surfing.
Just because it's a 15k/10k RPM drive doesn't mean that it will perform incredibly well. For most folks a 7200 RPM drive is more than enough. If you REALLY want to try a 10K RPM drive, here's a cheap one for $15.99 here .
