New System problem

Alright, I got all of my stuff last week and I put it together, and my copy of XP just came in today. So I boot up my new box and it starts going and then it says Verifying something Pool... and then it just freezes. I cant get XP to start to install because of this problem so what can/should I do.

Are you sure the RAM is installed in the correct slots?

If you have more than one stick of RAM, try installing with just one.

set your CMOS to "fail safe defaults" and try again. Then start enabling advanced options one at a time. Also make sure you have your CD-ROM set as your first bootable device so you can use the WinXP CD to boot.
