Half Life 2

OK, I've just watched the 20-odd minute long demo movie for HL2 and I have to admit it had me drooling, laughing and cacking my pants in equal measure. This is awesome stuff, though I'm slightly worried how it'll play on my PC. I remember my disappointment on playing HL1 on my old machine and it grinding to a near halt on the tentacled creature level.
Considering what I've seen so far of HL2, I think it's time to upgrade to a better vid card...

I assume the game would be no worse than Jedi Knight 2. Both are based on Quake 3 aparently. Run the JK2 demo in high quality at a good resolution and see if you lag.

Don't worry too much, Valve isn't dumb enough to make a game unplayable on a semi-old machine. The only game I've seen like that is BF1942.

When my GF3 Ti 200 can't play a game at 1152x864 MINIMUM I'm going to do voltage mods to it so I can overclock it more
